A free test page for any USB barcode or QR scanner. Most front-desk and retail scanners are "keyboard-wedge" devices: they type the barcode as a fast keystroke burst ending in Enter, not a camera feed. This tool captures that burst, measures the inter-key timing to tell a real scanner from hand typing, recognizes the symbology, validates the check digit, and confirms the Enter terminator.

This tool times the gap between characters: a tight burst (under 30 ms per character) with a terminator is a real scanner; slow characters look like hand typing.
