Controller Test

A free test page for any game controller or gamepad - Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, or a generic USB or Bluetooth pad. Confirms every button, trigger, and D-pad direction registers, both analog sticks move through their full range, and catches stick drift (a stick reading off-center at rest). Optionally fires the controller's rumble motors so you can confirm vibration works.

Privacy: All controller input is read and displayed locally, then discarded as soon as the test ends. No button presses, stick positions, or device identifiers are transmitted. View source to verify.

Configuration

Driver: Browser Gamepad API

Takes about a minute (most of it is you pressing every control). All input stays in this browser tab; nothing is uploaded.

Feature-detecting the Gamepad API and waiting for a controller to connect.

1 of 2

Press any button on your controller now. Browsers keep a gamepad hidden until it sends its first input, so a button press or stick nudge is what wakes it up. Wired or wireless both work.

Every control registers and no stick drifts

Press each button and trigger, sweep both sticks, then release them to check for drift.

2 of 2

Exercise every control. Press each button, pull both triggers, tap all four D-pad directions, and sweep each analog stick to its edges. Watch each control light up. Then let go of both sticks - if a stick pad still shows the dot off-center (and turns red), that stick is drifting. Test rumble below if your controller supports it. Click Done when finished.
