Recording Quality Check

A free browser tool that grades your microphone recording against a real published spec (ACX audiobook / general podcast). It captures a few seconds of silence to measure your room's noise floor, then a few seconds of normal speech to measure peak level, speech level, and clipping - then tells you, number by number, whether the setup is clean enough to record. This is not the same as the Mic Test: this measures recording quality, not just whether the mic works.

Privacy: All audio is captured and analyzed in this browser tab with the Web Audio API to compute level numbers only. No audio is recorded to a file, saved, uploaded, or transmitted, and this page makes no network requests of any kind. View source to verify.

Configuration

Driver: Web Audio capture via getUserMedia (processing disabled)

Takes about 15 seconds and needs one quiet moment plus a few seconds of normal speech. All audio is analyzed in this browser tab; nothing is recorded to a file or uploaded.
